Almost Got Away With Murder – “She” Forgot The Bite Mark She Left Behind…

The DNA from the bite mark on Rasmussen’s body was matched to her killer, Stephanie Lazarus. Rasmussen’s dad tried for many, many years to get justice for his daughter, saying, “I am 100 percent confident that Stephanie Lazarus killed my daughter.” Lazarus’ family argued that she couldn’t be the murderer…but in the end she was convicted of murder. Sound familiar?

Why am I posting about this case? Because I have no idea if it was a twist of fate, or just a coincidence (I don’t really believe in coincidences), but during Morgan’s stalking, just one month before her murder, I purchased the book you see above, about the Rasmussen case on my Kindle, but I never had a chance to read it until long after Morgan’s murder…the strange thing about that is the book spoke about Rasmussen’s killer being a police officer, evidence going missing, evidence destroyed, a bite mark on her body, and her father fighting for 2 1/2 decades to get justice.

At the time I read the book I had no idea that there were similarities to Morgan’s case. I still had not yet seen a picture of the bite mark on Morgan’s arm. I had not yet seen the picture of the saliva on the bite mark on Morgan’s arm, that showed up under the UV light. I did not know that the main suspect in Morgan’s stalking was being protected by the sheriffs, a warrant being suppressed, plea deals made, etc. Nope – I was completely in the dark at that time, and unaware of all the things I now know.

All that being said, it seems interesting that this book, just like everything else I have come across in the past 8 years, has helped me ask important questions. Those questions I have asked have led me to a lot of solid evidence in Morgan’s case, evidence that is shocking, because the sheriffs and pathologist knew about it at the time, and kept it from us – they covered it up! Many people believe Morgan was murdered, and many others seek to keep her case from ever being investigated, repressing the evidence, why? I believe Morgan’s case is not an isolated case in Colorado, and once Morgan’s case is actually investigated, and indictments made, it will cause many other cases to be reopened…it will be a nightmare for the state of Colorado. That alone can cause most of the push-back we have fought against all these years.

And just like Nels Rasmussen, we will never give up, and we will see justice for Morgan, eventually – please keep hope for justice alive in your thoughts and prayers…Morgan deserves it, as well as any future victims, if her murderer is not brought to justice.

I agree with Erin Brockovich’s quote below, and I will never stop trying to get justice for Morgan, why…because all the evidence I have seen with my own eyes proves to me that Morgan was murdered.

I didn’t realize she was murdered on the morning I found her body – no, I had no idea until approximately 3 months later, when other experts reviewed her toxicology and pathology report and told Steve and I that this needed an investigation, because it was a possible homicide!

I will admit, from the moment I found her body my “gut,” or I guess you could say my “intuition,” was screaming at me that something horrible had happened to Morgan, but the pathologist & the sheriff’s had told us she died from natural causes. After about 3 months we still did not have any evidence of murder, only questions, and murder is something Steve and I never wanted to believe, but could no longer deny looking into.

Now, after 7 years, and with all the evidence I have seen, no one has been able to give me a plausible reason how any of this evidence could have been anything other than murder, and it makes me totally sick to my stomach, but yes, the evidence does exist, it existed back then, but no one wanted to investigate, and the evidence tells a story – it shows Morgan was assaulted, fought back, and was brutally murdered. This was a 20-year-old victim of an active stalking at the time she was murdered, and the sheriffs did not investigate her death as a possible homicide – this is inexcusable and outrageous! Are Steve and I, as Morgan’s parents, angry? …Angry doesn’t even come close to how we feel. Morgan, our family, Morgan’s relatives, friends, and the whole Roaring Fork Valley community has been cheated and made to suffer, because of what was done, and not done in this case.

Every family has the right to know the truth, the right to know what really happened to their loved one, and we should never be persuaded against that right by people that have their own agenda and false narrative. Cowardly Teen Stalks & Shoots Ex-Girlfriend & Her Mother

This 15-year-old shot his ex-girlfriend in her own bedroom after sneaking in through her garage. It is always interesting when murderers deny they had anything to do with the crime, and then later turn themselves in…is their first thought that they can lie their way out of it, even knowing there was a witness who is still alive?

He had been expelled from school for stalking her. And just like in Morgan’s case this stalker had stalked his victim for only a short few months, before killing her. So if you think stalking can’t be lethal…think again. Stalking is a serious crime, and many times it is extremely lethal.

My heart goes out to these parents. This was a senseless crime in which they lost their beautiful 16-year-old daughter Kaylie. This should never have happened! We need tougher stalking laws and earlier intervention in order to save lives.

The main suspect in the police reports looks just like the person in these pictures…the suspect is left handed, wears the same t-shirt as in his social media picture and is driving a car with the exact same unique front grill as the car he owned at that time. In his interview with the sheriff detective the suspect denied it was him in the video, but the detective told him that he believed it was definitely him and that his denial didn’t even pass the laugh test. #JusticeForMorgan  We will NEVER give up!
