Morgan Is A Very Bright Light…

Morganwyoungtessi

Morgan with Tessi as a puppy – granted she was a big puppy, but she was very young at the time this picture was taken.  Morgan loved children and animals – they always made her smile.

Morgan was a gentle and sweet soul, existing as one with the earth.  Loved by all, and who’s bright light attracted everyone, and everything – including both light and darkness, people that were good, and people that were evil.

I really miss listening to her play her keyboard and sing.  One of the song that she used to sing almost every day was Hallelujah.  You may think it is just a coincidence, or a sign, or a whisper from an angel, but whatever you may believe in my heart every time I walk into a room and this song is playing or just goes on I “feel” like Morgan is reminding me that she is right there with me.  I “feel” a warm surge go through my back and all the sadness and longing I have to see her again becomes less because I “feel” like she is right there with me.  So on that note I would like to share with you the song below.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMNRXQuvl64

The most beautiful word: Hallelujah.

The most beautiful song, originally written and sung by none other than Buddhist, and Ladies’ Man, Leonard Cohen.  This song has different meanings to a lot of people but it is a beautiful song and one that makes me feel happy inside.

“And even though it all went wrong, I’ll stand right here before the Lord of song, with nothing on my tongue but ‘Hallelujah’.”

It’s, as I say, a desire to affirm my faith in life, not in some formal religious way but with enthusiasm, with emotion…It’s a rather joyous song. I wanted to write something in the tradition of the hallelujah choruses but from a different point of view…It’s the notion that there is no perfection—that this is a broken world and we live with broken hearts and broken lives but still that is no alibi for anything.

On the contrary, you have to stand up and say hallelujah under those circumstances.

~ Leonard Cohen

And most famously, by Rufus Wainwright, a version that made it into Shrek, the blockbuster children’s fave movie.

I heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don’t really care for music, do ya?
Well it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there’s a God above
But all I’ve ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who out drew ya
It’s not a cry that you hear at night
It’s not someone whos seen the light
It’s a cold and it’s a broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

2 years ago a college student writes to raise awareness

AspentreesfallToday I was organizing my notes and I came across the following submission. I received it 2 years ago on September 9, 2012.  It was from a college student that had read the blog and wanted to submit a paper about Morgan’s stalking and blog to her Speech Communications class, but wanted to run it by me first.

I was very touched back when I first read it, and this time around I was just as touched…my heart swelled with happiness when I thought of all the young people over the last few years that have contacted me to let me know how they feel about what happened to Morgan.  These submissions have made me believe that awareness has been raised, and will continue to be raised by all those that have come in contact with this case.  To date this website has now had over 5 million visitors from over 115 countries.

Morgan will receive justice one of these days, and my hope is when that justice comes, and light overcomes the darkness, the illumination from Morgan’s story will have a far-reaching effect on this world.

To this young writer I say thank you again for sharing Morgan’s story!

Morgan Ingram

You’ve probably never heard of the name above.  I recently just came to know of the 20 year old woman, Morgan Ingram from Colorado.  I don’t know Morgan or her family personally, but I’ve just started reading about her.  I know of her dog named Wylah, I know she always had a camera in her hand, I know she was an amazing painter, I know she loved hanging out with her friends, I know she had a wonderful relationship with her family, I know she was enrolled in classes at a Colorado college. I also know she was stalked and terrorized for four months, and I also know she is no longer with us on this Earth.

Morgan’s stalking and terrorizing started on August 2, 2011.  At first, just hearing noises. Noises that sounded like a tree branch rubbing against a window, a bird flying into a window, or even just the sounds of a house settling at the end of the night.  However, for the Ingram family, this was simply not the case.  From August 2, 2011 until December 2, 2011 Morgan was a victim of stalking.  It started out slow and then slowly began to escalate.  From throwing pebbles at the window to banging on their frosted bathroom window when she was showering.  Morgan started sleeping in her parents walk-in closet in the master bedroom.  When she wasn’t at home, she was with friends.  Because of this stalker, Morgans life, her families life, and everyone else around her life was affected.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking.  ”Didn’t the Ingram’s call the police?”  Of course they did.  Many times.  Unfortunately, it took many months for this case to move from only a misdemeanor trespassing case to a felony stalking case.  There was plenty of evidence that proved they in fact had a stalker targeting Morgan; footprints outside of her window, someone trying to enter their home by pushing the buttons to their keyless entry door and even a distinct trail visible on Google maps of a trail from the woods into their backyard.  The signs were all there, unfortunately, due to their interpretation of Colorado law, the police would only treat this as a trespassing case as mentioned above.

On December 2, 2011, Morgan Ingram left this world.  She was found by her parents in her room unresponsive.  The official cause of death was ruled “natural causes” (of a 20 year old, really?!) and then 9 months later was changed to “suicide.”  Now, as stated before, I don’t know Morgan or her family, but I do know, just by the accounts her mom, Toni, has told the world in her blog, that Morgan would not commit suicide.  She loved life and everything good life had to offer.  Yes, she was stalked and terrorized almost every day for four months, but this girl was strong.  Stronger than anything life could hand her, and in my heart I believe, as do many others ( Morgan’s Blog averages 250,000 views a week) that she was in fact killed, and did not take her own life.

Morgan’s mom, Toni, and dad Steve, have started a blog.  A blog dedicated to finding justice for Morgan and raising awareness about stalking.  Everyday during the four months Morgan was terrorized, Toni kept a journal.   Toni detailed every incident that happened, every text message sent, every photo taken, and every phone call made.  They now type those journal entries into their blog on the day they happened exactly one year ago.   They are showing the world what they went through, what Morgan went through and what millions of others are going through.  They are raising awareness of the murder of her daughter, and more importantly, using every resource they can, to find the person responsible for Morgan’s death and bring that person to justice.

Please visit Morgan’s blog.  The more people aware of what happened to Morgan, the closer the Ingram’s are to bringing her killer to justice.  https://morgansstalking.com/

The Ingram’s also have a Facebook page that you can visit and are encouraged to “like.” https://www.facebook.com/morgansstalking

Is SILENCE really golden? In this case the answer is NO!

mtnskySometimes silence is golden, but there are other times, however, when silence is not “golden”. It may be just plain “yellow” or cowardly in such instances! To remain silent at times when one should speak up is to be guilty of cowardice and results in a failure to do one’s duty. It all depends upon the circumstances. (I did not write that, someone else did, but when I read it I knew it explained my feelings, so I had to share)

In the case of Morgan’s murder we now have scientific verification that she was murdered, we have had some people come forward to give us information, but the sad thing is there are so many people, and yes, young adults that knew Morgan, and also know the people involved in her stalking, and murder that have not come forward.  Whether it is because they think they might be in danger themselves, or they might think they could be implicated in some way, or if they just think they don’t want to get involved…it really doesn’t matter what the reason is it is still just plain old cowardice.

Morgan loved everyone – she was so kind and giving to everyone, and all that knew her understand what I am saying.  Morgan deserves more than this – Morgan deserves, and wants her “friends” and others that knew her to come forward, and tell what they know, even if it is just a “little” thing.  Wouldn’t you want to help Morgan?  Arresting, and convicting are two different things, there is always a better case to be built, and right now there are a few little pieces that would be very key for Morgan’s case. Everyone I have spoken with in this valley has assured me that there are people here that know things, and that I should have a Private Investigator go interview everyone to get the answers, I may do that, but I truly believe in the goodness that  people have down deep in their souls, and I want to give them the chance to “do the right thing” on their own first.  That is why I am writing this post today…to give people the chance to do the right thing on their own.  It would be nice to have those last few facts that are still floating around out there.

On the top of this page we have a tip line – it is on the drop down under visit Morgan Ingram.com, and also located at the bottom of every page on the website www.morganingram.com…all you have to do is click on the tip line link, and you will go to a form that you can send in with any information – you can be anonymous, or tell us who you are and how to contact you.  No one but Steve and I can view these tips, and when they come in we will send them to (not the Garfield County Sheriff’s) an agent who is maintaining strict confidentiality, unless granted the permission to do otherwise.  We are aware of the threats flying around the valley.  Morgan would have never backed down because of a threat and Steve and I have a very real fear that this is going to happen again to someone else if we do not get justice for Morgan and the perpetrator is put behind bars so please, please, please help Morgan and others by coming forward.

Obadiah condemned some people in his day because they stood by and watched the enemies destroy some of their brethren. God’s prophet accused them of “violence against thy brother Jacob”. He told them that “shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off forever.” Obadiah told them when and why they had done that for which they were condemned – “On the day that you stood aloof, on the day that strangers carried off his wealth, and foreigners entered his gate and cast lots for Jerusalem – you too were as one of them.” By failing to help their brethren in their plight, Obadiah says of them that they were even as one of the enemies. In the same way today we can be as “one of the enemies” of God’s saints. (Again I thought I should share this, I did not write this paragraph, but it also explains through the Bible why people should stand up and do the right thing if they want to be good people, and not be on the same level as the criminals that do horrible things to others.

Why can’t we believe Morgan was murdered by her stalkers?

MorganspeacesignWe have established how they entered the house. Forensic professionals have established how she was killed.  Doctors and Medical Examiners have verified her death was not Natural Causes but Homicide. And the “contracted” part time Forensic Pathologist of Garfield County changes her death to Suicide after nine months and three threats to Morgan Jennifer’s mother.  Will that change the truth of Morgan’s murder?  Her killer’s hope it will, but it is doubtful at best.

December 1, 2011 AM – Day 122 of Morgan’s stalking – What is up?

From just after midnight the motion light on the corner of the garage (by Morgan’s windows) is almost constantly on.  Once it is triggered it stays on for one minute and then goes off unless it is triggered again.  Heat and motion in combination are the triggers.  It is re-triggered every minute and blinking off for just an instant.  Steve thinks it is malfunctioning at first when he watches the replay of the morning.  Except at 12:47 AM a deputy in his truck is patrolling, not our neighborhood, not even really our house, but specifically Morgan’s side of the house. He drives up the street and stops right between our house and our neighbor Rhonda’s house.  There he uses a searchlight to comb the side yard right outside Morgan’s window.

The truck drives on and a minute later returns from the end of the street toward Brooke Harris’ father and Brooke’s mother’s houses and returns to our house, then stops again. The searchlight is on again and it is quite clearly not aimed at the house or the ground as usual, but it is aimed higher, at the roof – why?  Steve assumes that the light has about a 20’ spread after it covers the distance from the Deputies truck to the house and the lower edge of the light is just hitting the wood trim above Morgan’s window.  From that point to the roof is about 4’ and as the roof climbs from the edge Steve assumes that the center of the light is trained about two feet above the roof.  It does not travel up or down from this elevation, but goes from side to side.  It is immediately obvious to Steve that whoever is aiming that light is looking for something on the roof, and once he points out what he is observing to me I am certain he is correct.  We roll back days watching for anything like this and find nothing similar.  What is going on this particular night that we are not privy to?

The neighborhood is quiet until 1:41 AM when another Deputies truck follows almost the same pattern with one big difference, there is no searchlight turned on this time.  Once the truck passes our driveway on the way out of our street it speeds up.

At 2:31 AM it is almost the exact pattern of the Deputy at 12:47 AM right down to the searchlight.  On replay of the tapes starting with the first deputy, and continuing until a while after this patrol, the motion light on the corner of the garage, which was being triggered constantly had now remained off.

Mark, also our next door neighbor came home at 4:21 AM, he was keeping a close eye on our house whenever he left or came home, and we were very thankful for that.  Our transformer had gone out one night in the middle of all this and was quite a cause for concern.  Mark stopped as he saw something going on just to make sure all was well – friends looking out for other friends is quite priceless at times like this.  Mark left this morning shortly after he came home.

Morning was lighting up as a neighbor left at 7:12 AM and a small flow of neighborhood cars came and went as sunlight took away the last traces of darkness.  Morgan sent a text to Calder at 8:11 AM wondering if he was in school yet.  She ran out to the car in her big fluffy pink robe to grab her ballet things from the back seat and brought them in for a load of wash I was starting.

Morgan and Nathan left at 8:56 AM and she made a deposit at the bank in Carbondale for Steve at 9:08 AM.  She texted her friend with an excuse that she would not be at ballet as she sat in line at the bank.  Steve was beginning to pack everything for the move and Morgan somehow thought it was her fault and insisted on helping him.  I told her she could not think like that and he would have lots of help packing up, but she was after all a Leo and very stubborn.  And it meant a lot to her to help Steve get the move under way.  She had walked out looking like she was ready for a job in the coal mines. but then had a great time talking with her brother at the shop.

Nathan was there to help and was catching up with his friends on Morgan’s phone at the same time.  It’s hard to believe we used to turn the big dial with our fingers on phones that were screwed to the wall growing up, but I had given up long ago trying to explain what that was like to Morgan and her friends.

At 10:36 AM I sent Detective Glassmire a text explaining that, “Calder told Morgan in the morning that he is not comfortable giving her Gracie’s number until he speaks with Gracie tomorrow.”  I made a few calls to find Gracie myself, after all Carbondale is not that big, and for some reason Detective Glassmire also jumped right into this issue of Keenan and a mystery girlfriend named Morgan.

By noon I had a call back from Gracie’s mom and told Morgan.  She was headed home for lunch with Nathan and Steve and seemed very happy to be able to send a text to her friend Calder that problem was solved and he shouldn’t worry about it another second.  They were all home at 12:18 PM and Morgan made lunch for us all.

Today it is December 1, 2012 – That day, 12.1.2011, was just like every other in so many ways.  I found Gracie’s mom and when I called Morgan to tell her that I looked in the phone book, found her and called and spoke with Gracie’s mom and got the number for Gracie, I can still hear Morgan telling me that, ” You rock.” and I can still remember how excited Morgan was that I had gotten a hold of Gracie’s Mom.  That is how Morgan was, always, so happy and so excited over the simplest things.  This day a year ago ‘I rocked’ because I found a name in a phone book, and she spent hours helping her father, because she thought she was inconveniencing us, because we were moving, due to her stalking.  Knowing Morgan as I did makes what happened to her all the more painful.  Not that anyone should ever deserve what has been done to her, and her memory, but of all the people in the world . . .not Morgan.
