January is the National Stalking Awareness Month

January 2020 marks the sixteenth annual National Stalking Awareness Month (NSAM), an annual call to action to recognize and respond to the serious crime of stalking.

Since 2004, each January is recognizedby the National Center for Victims of Crime as the National Stalking Awareness Month (NSAM), aiming to raise awareness and help individuals and communities across the US identify, prevent and stop this dangerous behavior. Intrusive and harmful, stalking destroys a person’s sense of safety, leaving victims suffering from severe depression, insomnia or anxiety.

Movements like #MeToo and Time’s Up were a great step ahead towards opening up about sexual harassment, rape threats and abuse, in a time when cyberspace abusers use tactics like sextortion, revenge porn and online harassment, or newly-added offenses like swatting (calling a SWAT team to someone’s home) or doxing / doxxing (releasing someone’s private information publicly, with malicious intent).

How Do You Confront Evil?

When someone has done something evil to you or someone you love – how would you confront that evil?

Stalkers are evil. So, what actually is evil? Evil is a conscious choice to harm another. Stalkers harm their victims, causing them to suffer a wide range of psychological, physical, occupational, social and general lifestyle effects, as a consequence of being stalked. Stalkers are in the business of terror. Lives are destroyed by this crime – that is why stalking is a crime.

When people deny the reality of stalking that perception helps evil exist – it makes it so much easier for stalkers to continue their reign of terror. This is not okay! Stalkers don’t believe the laws pertain to them…they are puppets of darkness.

I still have the courage to confront the evil of stalking, although at times it is hard, I refuse to back away. I don’t confront the evil of stalking through my anger & rage (although I have those feelings because of what was done to my youngest child), but instead I have chosen to make a higher choice and confront this evil through my writing, and speaking engagements, as well as through my work with other victims of stalking, and upcoming stalking awareness workshops. Someone needs to do something, and there is a lot to do in order to raise awareness, change laws, and level the playing field for victims – we all need to be accountable and do something about these acts of evil. You will be challenged, I have been, but you can’t give into evil – that’s what evil wants – it wants good people to stand back and do nothing. Evaluate your own actions every day – serve someone else every day and illuminate positivity in everything you do.

I don’t believe we can ever completely eliminate evil, but I do believe each and every one of us has the power to stop it when we see it. Help raise awareness, believe the victims, push for stronger laws against stalkers, speak up – your voice is your most powerful tool against the darkness of evil. Thank you all for being warriors for truth & transparency!

#STALKING IS A CAMPAIGN OF #AGGRESSION & #HOSTILITY

“Stalkers with previous violent behaviors, strong negative emotions. and obsessional tendencies toward the victim may be most at risk of future violent and aggressive acts.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11714152

Survivors combines investigative journalism and real cases to highlight the growing number of unsolved cases, issues with police transparency, and cases where corruption interrupts due diligence.

Stalking is a pervasive & serious threat! Only 2 days after the felony stalking detective warned us that Morgan’s stalker was most likely going to escalate his behavior – she was murdered! What we didn’t know at that time was that he had “tipped off” the suspects just 2 days earlier that Morgan would be doing her on-camera interview the following week and a possible arrest could be made…so, I guess killing the witness to the crime makes the crime go away?

Morgan’s manner of death was incorrectly concluded as a “Natural Death” for the first 9 months, then after I was threatened by the pathologist to “back off with my questions or else he could change her manner of death to accidental or suicide,” he changed it to “Suicide,” again with no evidence, another incorrect conclusion. All the scientific facts and medical certainty pointed to foul play, but the sheriff would not investigate.

There are no checks and balances when it comes to this happening to a loved one who’s manner of death has been incorrectly listed. Morgan was killed during an ACTIVE INVESTIGATION INTO HER FELONY STALKING and NO investigation into her death ever happened!

The Washington Post did research on only REPORTED cases of homicides, (like many of these stories in the book, so many suspicious deaths that are real homicides go unreported because because they have been misreported. The Washington Post stated, “Out of 54,868 homicides in 55 cities, over the past decade, 50 percent did not result in an arrest.” In my opinion, in this day and age this is not acceptable. This is “Murder with Impunity!”
