Almost forgot another milestone

Last week the Morgan Ingram Blog went over 1/2 million views for the week, and I was too busy dealing with hackers of Morgan’s Blog too share.  But someone on their way home from shopping stopped her stalker in his tracks. And a small radio station began to raise awareness of crimes reported in one Sheriff’s district and ignored right next door. I applaud you all for your concern. The time to take stalking seriously has arrived. Remember that Morgan loves you for your efforts!  And the next victim we help could just be you. Share Morgan’s stalking with your friends. We all will make a difference!!!

MISSING MORGAN AND BLOWING OFF STEAM – JUST A LITTLE…

morning

STEVE AND I WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT MORGAN’S HORRIFIC STALKING AND MURDER – AND YES, UNITL AN INVESTIGATION IS LAUNCHED WE ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN CONTINUE TO CONDUCT AN OFFICIAL INVESTIGATION – AND YES, IT’S HORRIBLE FOR US!

WE JUST REALIZED THAT A SIMPLE QUESTION HAS NEVER BEEN ANSWERED AND PERHAPS YOU CAN HELP, BECAUSE I THINK I AM MISSING SOMETHING HERE – IF THE GARFIELD COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT HAS SELF ADMITTEDLY RESPONDED TO OVER 50 CALLS AT OUR RESIDENCE, AND NEVER SAW ANY SIGN OF A STALKER –

DESPITE NUMEROUS CRYSTAL CLEAR SHOE PRINTS IN CAREFULLY WATERED AND RAKED SOIL AROUND OUR HOUSE, WILDLIFE CAMERA PHOTOS, VIDEO SURVEILLANCE FOOTAGE, EYE WITNESS TESTIMONY, TESTIMONY ABOUT REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO OPEN OUR FRONT DOOR THROUGH A NUMERIC KEYPAD, METAL CLEARLY CRACKED IN THE GUTTER OVER MORGAN’S WINDOW (BY AS OF YET UNDETERMINED FORCES), THE TESTIMONY OF OUR NEIGHBORS CONCERNING THE BIZARRE BEHAVIOR OF MORGAN’S STALKING SUSPECT(S), ET CETERA, ET CETERA –

THEN HOW DO WE HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT THIS SAME SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT CAN BE REALISTICALLY EXPECTED TO RESPOND TO A 911 CALL ON THE MORNING MORGAN WAS FOUND DEAD AND THINK SOMETHING NEFARIOUS MIGHT HAVE OCCURRED?   OF COURSE THEY COULDN’T, THE STALKER EASILY ELUDED EVERY EFFORT THEY EVER PUT FORTH TO CATCH HIM; SO OF COURSE ON THE MORNING MORGAN WAS FOUND DEAD –

HER BODY FILLED WITH A DATE RAPE COCKTAIL (LETHAL MANY, MANY TIMES OVER), ALL OF HER VALUABLE JEWELRY MISSING, 3 OF HER NAILS TORN, AN UNIDENTIFIED SUBSTANCE ON HER CHEST (VISIBLE ONLY UNDER THE CRIME SCENE LIGHTING), A SUSPICIOUS RED BRUISE ON HER FOREHEAD, BLOOD IN HER MOUTH. OF COURSE THE GARFIELD COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT WOULD BE TOTALLY INCAPABLE OF PUTTING 2 + 2  TOGETHER AND REACHING THE UNBELIEVABLE ASSUMPTION THAT HER STALKER COULD HAVE ESCALATED TO MURDER.  THAT THE UPCOMING EXECUTION OF A SUBPOENA UPON CITY MARKET, EL JEBEL THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY TO TURN OVER ALL THE SUSPECTS WORKING HOURS, WHICH THE DETECTIVE WAS CONFIDENT, ONCE OVERLAID WITH THE TIMELINE OF STALKING WOULD BE COMPELLING EVIDENCE TO FINALLY MAKE AN ARREST OF HER STALKER.  A FACT THAT MORGAN WAS SO EXCITED ABOUT SHE SHARED WITH HER DOCTOR, DURING HER OFFICE VISIT, 36 HOURS BEFORE HER DEATH.  OF COURSE THE GARFIELD COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT WOULD WANT TO BELIEVE THIS WAS ALL COMPLETELY UNRELATED. MERE COINCIDENCE!

THE SAME GARFIELD SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT WHICH OCCUPIED THE HOUSE MORGAN WAS KILLED IN THAT MORNING TO PROCESS THE SCENE – IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF COLORADO REVISED STATUTES PERTAINING STRICTLY TO MEDICO LEGAL INVESTIGATION OF DEATH SCENES IN THE STATE OF COLORADO!  AND SUPERVISED BY AN INDIVIDUAL EITHER FROM THE FARNUM HOLT FUNERAL HOME OR A CHIEF DEPUTY CORONER FROM THE GARFIELD COUNTIES CORONERS OFFICE…OR MAYBE EVEN BOTH?!?  AND OF COURSE ALSO PRESENT IN VIOLATION OF COLORADO REVISED STATUTES PERTAINING SPECIFICALLY TO DEPUTY CORONERS.

OF COURSE I AM MISSING SOMETHING…THE TRUTH

Stories of stalking…what if stories of the victims helped heal and empower others?

Morgan's photo of rings of a tree

Just like the rings of a tree, every year we grow, always building on what has come before.

Every day I sit in front of a computer and relive a day that led up to my daughter’s death.  I was truly uncertain as to how she had died at first, and Steve and I sought out a second opinion.  We were shocked, in denial, exercising avoidance, you name a psychological name that protects you from the brutal truth, and there is a good chance it was humming full speed in us at that time.

Along this path to recovery we had a third opinion, a fourth, a fifth, so many we have lost track.  All wonderful caring professionals I will never be able to thank enough for the time they took, and the compassion with which they treated our family.  Completely diametrically opposed to the way we were treated by the Coroner Trey Holt and the subcontractor who does his autopsies Dr. Robert Kurtzman.  At one point I remember Steve pointing out that if the score was being kept it was 12 -1, Twelve professionals certain that the one, Dr. Robert Kutzman was wrong.  As you can imagine that did not go over well with Dr. Robert Kurtzman,  obviously not used to being questioned or having to answer tough questions he became frustrated and dismissed it all as “none of these other doctors can testify, only I can testify in court, and he was so wrong about that too.   But he and Trey Holt had their own agenda, and I really am at a loss to explain what that might have been.  The well being of our family as we dealt with this nightmare, and the pursuit of justice for Morgan Jennifer Ingram did not exist for those two.

Even Thomas Walton, of whom I spoke yesterday, he may have really been trying to do a good job, but if his requirements were zero, and his training was zero, and if part of his job description was to make sure his boss got the job of handling the funeral to come, well if that was the case, he did as good as he could have been expected to.  They are completely separate entities you know, or at least they are supposed to be. The Coroner’s office – ultimate authority for the cause of death, none higher – then the funeral home is what comes after, and only after the County Coroner has completed his job and released the body.  That they are the same person is problematic to be sure, but that is sort of the law here in Colorado.

I have found it really important to share what happened, and along the path to recovery the most amazing thing has happened.  Sharing the story has become the rock around which Steve and I rebuild… our family, the search for truth, and justice for Morgan, and even ourselves.

It has been on my mind for a long time and I believe today is the day.  So many have shared with me their stories of stalking, as you know there have even been a few arrests across the country,  arrests I am told would not have happened were it not for Morgan’s story being shared.  People have realized by reading her story that they have a stalker and need to report it and not just keep it to themselves.

So I want to do something, I want to ask all of you who have been victims of stalking to try something.  Share your story with Morgan, don’t use your real name, maybe initials.  But tell what happened, and how it made you feel, and what you did about it, and the State it happened in, short or long as you want.  This is all in the hopes that it will help to heal and, my fingers are crossed here,  rip the cover off this crime called stalking for all the country, and the world to see.   So keep that in mind as you write.  Then send it to me as an  anonymous tip.  I think it would be a good thing to have a group of stories of stalking.  People are so absolutely amazed by the story of Morgan’s stalking, and certain it has to be told.  Maybe your story will touch a chord too, and maybe that is the real story here.

September 27, 2011 – Day 57 of Morgan’s Stalking – The Question of Restraining Orders

Morgan smiling

All three of us (Morgan, Steve & myself) had a discussion about the stalker at breakfast, as well as Steve’s feelings about a restraining order.  A while back, we had decided to let the detective weigh in when he came on board, and today I was going to do just that. Steve and I wanted Morgan’s opinion now, and we discussed the dangers of restraining orders.  We didn’t really know what the best course was, and we once again we grappled for the answer.  Morgan wanted a restraining order, but agreed with us that we should wait to see what the detective thought…this ultimately was a BIG mistake! Morgan was convinced it was Keenan, and wanted to know why the sheriffs did not just confront him?  We did not have an answer for that, not an acceptable one anyway.

Morgan was pressed for time, and had to leave for school, so I did sent an email to the detective during my lunch break, telling Rob it was very nice to meet him, and about the incident that has happened last night in what has become the stalker’s most popular time.  The detective had talked about stakeouts, and Steve and I are hoping he would read the email I sent him, and just come by tonight at around that time.  But, as we found out, that was not how it works.

In the email I reminded him to please remember to give us the case number, and asked him for his ideas or concerns about a restraining order.  We realized that you can’t get a restraining order against your stalker or stalkers, a restraining order has to be directed at a person, a specific person.  I didn’t share with him Morgan’s certainty, but I did name Keenan as the person we would be seeking a retraining order against.  I also added that we were not 100% positive yet that is was him, but Morgan was.

I had asked those two questions and clicked send.  We would wait for the answer and I already felt apprehension.  Restraining orders are meant to protect, but they also come with some danger, depending on the typology of your stalker.

Morgan came home from school, and went to see Dr. Jensen, a wonderful homeopathic doctor, because her back hurt again.  He adjusted her, and she was feeling much better when she came back.  She went out to visit with friends, and came home at 9:30 pm – before I would have felt the need to text her.  We had a very quiet night, which was great, as well as disturbing.  Anytime anything changed it would be quiet for at least a day or two.  Once again we had the detective’s truck parked in our driveway for a long time, while we went over the case, but that even seemed to have been enough to make this stalker pause again.

(Police reports later show the “suspect” was not working this evening.  On 9.27.2011 he worked from 1:03 am – 6:07 am & then from 6:40 am – 10:20 am)

September 25, 2011 – Day 55 of Morgan’s Stalking – We have a detective and a case number…almost!

We make plans to all go to Glenwood Springs, and do some good old fashioned shopping.  Morgan has a list of things she needs, and it promises to be a great little get away.  Steve goes out to clean my car, and finds all kinds of Morgan’s friend’s stuff piled up in the back.  He comes in to tell Morgan, and this prompts her to send a text to her friend Calder,  “Dude… You’ve got to stop leaving your **** everywhere.”  Problem solved!  If only everything were so simple.

After a successful day of shopping we come home, and I get a call from our new detective that has been assigned to Morgan’s felony stalking case, Garfield County Sheriff Detective Rob Glassmire, he introduces himself and we make plans for him to stop by the house the following evening, he said he works Sunday – Wednesday, and times will vary because of his work load, so he will usually be in the later part of the day.  We’ll go over the case in detail when he comes and he wants me to get together what we have so far.  Then we can go over it all while he’s at the house.

I hang up and relish the feeling for a moment, a detective, for our case.  We’ve never had a detective before, because we have never needed one.  I instantly thought that my information so far was lacking, that I had to spend the rest of the evening updating and organizing.  Steve tries to assure me that what we have will completely overwhelm the detective.  I don’t agree, and sit myself down to the task.

Before we go to sleep Morgan explains that she was way too on edge the other night when she rang the bell, and we both came running that she could not go back to sleep for hours, waiting for a repeat that never happened.  She wants to avoid that.  We compromise on her agreeing to send me a text when it happens and only use the alarm button in an emergency.  I will hear the text come through and then see the text, and we will have a record that is time and date stamped to give the detective.  It will all work out.

At 10:45 pm the motion alarm in the back goes off.  We think it could be anything (dog, deer, rabbit), and we wait to see.  Two minutes later I got a phone text from Morgan that a rock just hit her window.  Steve curses, and we both get up to review the cameras again.  And again there is nothing caught on camera.  The review takes us about an hour and we go back to sleep at midnight.

There was a clear pattern developing – it seemed like a quick hit and run.  I could almost picture him coming over the berm, setting of the motion detector, and minutes later being at Morgan’s window.  But he was not invisible, and how this was happening without anything showing up on cameras had to be answered. Much later when we find out how he was doing it things became clear – the motion alarm in the back of the house was the tip off…

At that time we thought the detective would know what was going on – he had to know…again, we were wrong.
