Public Service Announcement – there are some people that don’t want to look at the facts

Obviously stalking is a much bigger problem then most people believe.  I point to the circulation of this blog – which deals with stalking.  As of yesterday this blog is now being viewed in over 100 countries, and has had over 60,000 views per day.

It’s important to remember as we search globally for an answer to the not so easy to solve problem of stalking, that those hardest hit by stalking are the VICTIMS of stalking.  Just as obviously there are so many victims both in this country and around the world, our daughter Morgan herself was a VICTIM of stalking, victims rights is becoming a huge issue, and it is well past the time for this to happen!  In fact this year a constitutional amendment will most likely be passed dealing with victims rights on a national level.

Having been a victim of stalking as a parent, and watching my daughter be a stalking victim, and forced to pay the ultimate price, the one thing I can tell you without doubt is how her right to decency and fairness has been repeatedly trashed.  Even after her death, the Forensic Pathologist, after repeated threats to me, changed Morgan’s manner of death from natural to suicide – he did this while completely ignoring that the test he ran in complete secrecy, in hopes of justifying his reclassification of death, found not only amitriptyline, as anyone would logically think would show up if you did another test, since it showed up in the 1st test that was run, but the 2nd test also found 5 other date rape drugs in Morgan’s system – so now it’s called a suicide…am I missing something here?  Is this a common occurrence that a girl would commit suicide with a date rape cocktail?  If so the rapists of the world have little to fear…especially in Garfield County!  And of course this is after she steals all her own jewelry, and gang stalks herself for 4 months, follows herself in her car twice, and I am not sure how she managed to get people to show up in the middle of the night on our video surveillance cameras, or show up in our backyard in the dark while she was putting her puppy out to go potty, or having me witness the stalker on our porch, in our front yard, etc., etc.  The point I am really trying to make here is that we have to find room in our hearts for the VICTIMS of STALKING, my family has lived through it, and it is horrific in every sense of the word.  And there is one simple truth that I wish for all of you to remember – one day we were not victims of stalking and the next day we were –  it happens that fast, that completely, and it may take years to put your life back together, as I have heard from other victims.

Part of the solution for stalking will always be caring, and compassion for the victims.  If you know anyone that is a victim of stalking give them any help you can, because they desperately need it, and always remember that one day it could easily be YOU that is suddenly the victim of a stalker.

Steve and I, in our personal fight against stalking, will hold every government official accountable for what they did, or did not do, to prevent a crime that affects so many.

  1. just wanted to say my heart goes out to you, and extend a thank you for sharing your story. you are empowering victims and their families and making a difference. I can only pray that justice is served for Morgan.

  2. facts, that is exactly what we want to look at. Why won’t you address the police reports? You mention in comments that you haven’t even seen them. If you are so sure that le didn’t do their job, show us where you feel they dropped the ball. Have you tried contacting media about this? Nancy Grace? NBC? With so many hits and so much attention to this blog I wonder why no one is picking up the story?

I do agree that you are victims and I understand you are grieving, but you keep naming people here, people who have been investigated and cleared. You do not seem open to any other possibility other then
    “x killed Morgan”.

    • We do have a theory that has been laid out for us, and we will certainly be sharing it once a few more questions are cleared up. The roadblocks to getting a few pieces of evidence to our investigator and having one more test performed is adding time, but we are more interested in correct than quick, time is not the biggest concern although we would dearly love to have necessary steps completed. It has so far been very painful for me whenever I have even thought of sitting down to read the reports. Watching the video from that evening and morning has been the most I can do. And I want to add that the Deputies were all very passionate in their desire to catch the stalker. It is a small community and I have many of those who were there that morning and we’ve had our chances to talk about it. They have children and we usually both end up in tears. And last is the national shows, there are things that unavoidably happen in those settings and I am just not ready for it yet. Someday I hope to tell the story, but more in the context of the enormity of this issue and how best to protect the victims. We can never bring Morgan back, but we must have her story told, and it is being told. Off the record, there is a website going together called MorgansCase.com that tells the story very factually and loaded with evidence and interviews. But we only have so much time and funding for it so it is still a ways off.

      • Why not make the reports available to your readers? At least then they can read the police reports and see the facts for themselves — i.e., how police responded to your calls, and how they investigated the person you suspect of being the stalker?

    • Lilygator, the fact is that THIS blog is the vehicle by which the Ingrams who are the victims here, along with their little girl, are telling THEIR story. If you want to hear a different story, go find one. If you want to see the reports, go request them. I believe most police reports are a matter of public record. But that is not really the point. Morgan’s parents have explained over and over that they are getting new information every day, working with as many experts as they have been able to involve in the case, and can afford to pay. And, notably, they have OFTEN said that there are reasons why they are releasing only the information they are releasing at any given time. If you don’t like the way they have chosen to share this story (and incidentally, there is interest from several “national” news shows in this story, but it is currently in the crucial stages of having gained the attention and support of the public, and Toni and Steve are just now being advised by EXPERTS on how to proceed rather than sensationalize their daughter’s death by a “20/20 Unsolved Mystery.” Perhaps, in time, if we find no answers as a community from our public servants, that may be where this story ends up, and how tragic would that be for Morgan’s stalking, terrorizing and ultimately murder to just become tabloid television fodder. So by all means, if you find another story more to your liking, go read it. If you want information on this case, join the fight and write to our Law Enforcement, our Governor, our Coroner, our Senators and demand that this injustice and freaking circus is never allowed to be repeated. In the meantime, this is not your story to direct, it is not appropriate for you to demand answers from this family, and if you find anything legally inappropriate about a grieving mother’s writings about the facts AS SHE KNOWS THEM then hire a freaking lawyer. Something tells me you have more than a passing interest in the way Toni has chosen to write this blog, and if so, what is it?? Otherwise, read, don’t read, but this is THEIR story, THIS IS THE STORY OF MORGAN and it will be told as her parents, friends, family and supporters see fit, which is in a manner to ultimately identify, arrest, try and punish her stalker cum murderer(s) as well as help other victims of stalking avoid being jerked around, intentionally or not, by those who are supposed to be protecting them from the creep that lives down the street. – Valerie

      • Oh, one more thing, just because Toni (and possibly Steve) have chosen not to put themselves through reading these reports personally, have you not noticed they are working with others who are taking care of many of these tasks for them and God Bless Their Souls for helping to carry that burden! Jeeez, Toni is a saint just for responding personally to EVERY SINGLE COMMENT left on this blog, as well as now having one on one conversations with other stalking victims. What mother wants to sit down and actually read those reports when a) you see the false reporting b) it is only further reliving the most horrific experience c) its written in a language which is legalese, frustrating to decipher correctly and d) there are other more qualified people who can do it for her and then point out the discrepancies between her notations, ask her the appropriate questions to fill in the blanks and properly decode and analyze their content. Have you ever read a police report? I’ve read a couple having to do with assaults on ME… I WAS THERE, I MADE THE REPORT and they were still confounding and frustrating as hell to read. And I personally relived every second of the attack I endured through reading them. Why would I want to do that if it wasn’t necessary? – Valerie

  3. First of all I do not have any reports from the Sheriff’s – they have never given me any reports. The following might not seem like an important piece of information to you, but we have been assured that it is a vital piece of information that has been put out on the report incorrectly. We are still working on trying to get Morgan’s PER to reflect the correct position she was in when her body was found, I found her – and as I am the one that found her and told the EMT’s, Sheriff’s, and anyone that asked me that morning exactly what position she was in, but to date they have never changed it to the correct position on the report – even the forensic pathologist said it was probably just a typo when Thomas Walton typed up the report, so I sent the correction in an email to Thomas Walton and his assistant called me back the next day to inform me that Thomas can not make any changes on the PER unless directed by the forensic pathologist or the detective on the case. So there I was again in the continual circle of incorrect information on reports that would never be corrected. So even if I had the reports, which I do not have, why would I put them on this blog? Just to frustrate myself even further?

    • They would report the position she was found in when they got there. That is the correct way to report it. They cannot just write down what you tell them as fact because the scene was contaminated after her body was moved. When documenting reports they have to go on what is observed when they arrive on the scene.

      • Well guess what – upon instruction from the 911 operator we had to take her off her bed, and put her on the floor to do CPR so of course she wasn’t in the same position she was found in, and that is why the asked us – and then they wrote a different scenario all together. They said she was found face down – she wasn’t she was found on her right side – and of course she was on her back, on the floor and Steve was administering CPR when the EMT’s ran in so do you really think they should not have asked us about her body position? And if she was your daughter wouldn’t you be a little concerned that they couldn’t even get that right on the PER? Granted we are not talking CSI here but come on…

  4. I really do hope u make a law suit against the county…. Here in san Francisco we cOntinually heard and find out about corrupt police…. For Morgan. Like the name of the dress “justice for Morgan!”

  5. they just climbed someway close to or got a utility truck to grab your wildlife camera (GREAT IDEA) and disable it and then hang it back up as though nothing had happened. Simple as that. that’s what they did to a few of mine. I still have some of them. They wear gloves when they tamper with your car but not always i suspect. (dumb)
