Someone just sent me an email about a book they thought I might want to read – I can’t believe it is about another mother just like me…different story, but also similar in many ways. I just hope in our case it doesn’t take eleven years, but even if it takes longer, we will never give up.
For eleven years this mother fought to have her daughter’s COD changed – the Coroner went from “undetermined” to “suicide” to “undetermined” to “suicide” when she knew her daughter had not committed suicide, but had been murdered. On November 9, 2009 there was a precedent-setting hearing that found that the Coroner’s office had been derelict in it’s duty to investigate her daughter’s death…why do these people we trust put parents through the most unspeakable pain of fighting for the truth to come out?
The book by Ann Rule is titled “In the Still of the Night”
Don’t ever give up your fight to find justice for your Morgan. I have a daughter also named Morgan and am so sad for what you are going through. It is terrible and I can’t believe that the officials out there aren’t also fighting for justice for Morgan.
I am a fan of Ann Rule. I will have to check out this book. I haven’t read this one.
Jenna – I haven’t read the whole book yet, but I am planning to. I have not given up on other officials getting involved to do the right thing…I guess I never give up on humanity.
I have read that book. Nearly forgotten it has been so long ago will get it and read it as soon as I can. Ann Rule wrote stranger beside me, the harrowing truth of ted bundy. She is very astute and an incredible researcher
To update the record on Ronda Reynolds: The death was finally ruled a homicide, and the ex-son-in-law (who reported her death) was named as the prime suspect and step-son as complicit in her death, on May 2nd, 2014.
