Steve had a realization right after breakfast that ruined his day. We were so carefully chronicling the stalking events that happened. Where cars were parked, what lights were on, times, everything for the entire neighborhood. But here we were two parents trying to put an end to a horrible situation as quickly as possible, and in these days of relative bliss – we had kept track of very little.
The quiet times hold just as much information as our most stalker infested night. Remember the old saying, “The silence was deafening”? Here we had silence, and we had not been applying ourselves to such an important question. Why? Why was it so quiet now?
The calm morning was quickly taken over by urgency. Before I could even suggest an idea Steve was on his way out to do a sweep of the neighborhood, legal pad in hand. He said he didn’t want to jinx it, but comparing the notes when he came back inside the house, with all of the notes when something had happened, would yield some information, he was certain.
I looked around the house, and gave this idea great thought. The drapes, I said to myself. What had been a fish bowl for someone who cared to stand out on our berm in the darkness, was now completely closed off. Nothing to see, no reason to stay – ah if stalkers were only so simple.
Steve came back from his drive with that “Oh, I found something” look. He told me the green car is not here, and he didn’t think it had been here all week. Also, the Explorer with the busted out rear window on the corner was gone too. Steve was going to keep better track. Before he felt he was intruding on other peoples privacy, by recording every coming and going, now he wasn’t going to let that stop him, not until this guy was caught.
(Police reports later show the “suspect” was not working this evening)
Today it is 9/11/ 2012, an anniversary of such horrendous magnitude. And the little things are at work again. Particularly accounts of other stalking events in this area. In the early days of Morgan’s stalking Deputies that were personally involved in other stalking calls would recall the details to me. No dates, no times, no names, just what happened. I always wondered if any of the many events the deputies shared could be helpful in our case. And something strange that I should have stood up to happened as we had Detectives assigned to Morgan’s case. As I recounted these, last summer, last fall, right after mountain fair events, the Detective said he checked every one out, and always came back to tell me I was mistaken. There was never anyone tapping on windows in Blue Creek, only someone stealing things out of parked cars. I would question this, wondering how the Deputies that had responded to the calls have gotten it so wrong. Our Detective wasn’t sure, only that it had not happened. So now my tip line is filled with personal reports of these very incidents. I’m mystified as to why this happens, why did the Patrol Officers give me a correct account of what had happened before Morgan’s stalking started and why had our Detective assigned to the felony stalking told us it didn’t happen? Is there something I missed? This is very strange!
A stalker, maybe even our stalker, was at work in this immediate area long before he settled in on Morgan. That I am finding out this way, on a secret tip line, 9 months after Morgan’s murder, it is very troubling to me, and for what it portends for the safety of others…we need law enforcement to be forthcoming when things are happening so the community can assist and be aware of their surroundings.

In some of the info about stalkers you posted, it says they usually know the victim. Did Morgan know K at all or in the tiniest way, other than by ?? I’m finding it hard to think that he just chose her randomly this way. I’m really stuck on someone working at the horse ranch could be responsible. The know how with the drugs, the access, the known effects of the drugs. I asked around my group of friends and flexeril is in all our houses! I’ve heard it is prescribed almost as much as Vicodin (the most prescribed pain med).
K was at times a checker at the local City Market in El Jebel. We would send her for the last few grocery items sometimes and Morgan remembered he had rang up her groceries there. She would also purchase makeup and fingernail things there so the possibility has been raised that he could have even asked her for her license.
If Keenan dated ? and there was a well known problem between ? and Morgan, isn’t there a strong a possibility that ? convinced Keenan to do this?… most likely together. There is just no possible way that this could have been done by one person alone.. I don’t know if anyone directly helped if one man was responsible but others were involved for covering
that seems way worse than just a simple case of misinformation or lack of communication between agencies…
I agree – really, really bad for everyone.
Often times the patrol officers will tell you what’s really happening, because they get to see a whole picture of events. They know they went on such calls etc. A detective, however, may not tell everything there is to know, even deny things, because there may be open investigations and telling people could jeopardize the case. It could be something as simple as that.
I agree, but that needs to be a change in protocol. If there is a person roaming the neighborhood that is a stalker then people need to know – especially someone that is currently being stalked. Having a stalking victim call law enforcement and have law enforcement show up over and over again never seeing or catching the stalker should tell law enforcement they are doing something wrong – get help with community evolvement, the more eyes and ears that know the better + then others are aware and awareness does save people.
I couldn’t agree more, Toni! It baffles me to some degree that law enforcement would not at least give an outline (perhaps details may have compromised an active case)….but an outline? Just make the community alert so that it’s citizens can protect themselves and heck, maybe even know what to be aware of within their surroundings. I say this often, but it is sooooo easy to be too comfortable and go about with “blinders” (so-to-speak). I have done it and know many others who do as well. Its easy to have a false sense of security…
Exactly – give the community a warning, a description to watch out for…something, keep people informed, but silence only begets silence and no one comes forward so cases do not get solved. And does anyone think that when those big Sheriff’s vehicles come to your house constantly that people don’t notice??? Of course they do, so tell them what is happening – ask people to keep their eyes open, and their shades drawn.
Not only that but I would like I know if that were happening in my neighborhood! Not just for my own safety, but my neighbors as well. I love my neighbors and if something like this happened and I was not told, but was able to help by keeping an eye out or in your case, listening and watching for your alarms and running after them with you, knowing you’d do the same for your neighbors, It’s maddening! Had you been able to send a group text to your neighbors, this guy would’ve been caught the first time he came around, but like everyone else should be able to do, you trusted their advice. They should’ve known better!
And I wish I had know so that is why I am telling people on my blog what really happened in our case so the same thing doesn’t happen again
Mrs Ingram,
I do not know how you and your family do this. I’m so angry right now and I do not know you or your family. They used the fact that you were a grieving parent, and zero experience in police procedure to placate you. It burns me up to no end! I totally understand how all Police Agencies need to take stalking seriously. It is not simple crime and all to often I believe the police look at Stalking like J-walking.
I wonder how the Chief of Police and or the Coroner would do if it were one of their family member’s stalked? We all know that the entire police force would be called to action.
My heart and soul is with you and your family. I pray every day that someone will have the guts to stand up and truly investigate the motives behind their NON-ACTION in this case.
And they’d call in the armed forces for one of their own! Despicable! Doesn’t even say on their badges “To protect and serve”? When are they supposed to uphold that creed?
Thanks so much for your heartfelt comment! I pray for the same thing.
It is extremely hard to go through this everyday, and I would never wish this on anyone else in the world…but I no we have to do this, so we can’t sit back and pretend that it’s not necessary. Steve and I know it’s necessary and we know we have to do this for Morgan as well as for others all across this country that don’t deserve to be victims of these predators – we can all fight back and protect our families.
I pray that the CBI or the FBI would get involved in Morgan’s case and open an investigation – I would not want the same people that closed her case opening it up again because of public pressure I would want a fresh set of eyes to look into everyone and everything.
I am typically a private person…but will share that I had flexeril RX to me after my car accident. I took one 5mg (I believe or maybe .5mg will have to check) and slept for 2 days. Could not believe the doctor gave me something so heavy. When I asked about it, the doctor said the dosage was very low and commonly prescribed. I was pretty shocked. I was NOT severely injured and could not understand prescribing a drug that basically makes you comatose.
Flexeril is commonly used as a muscle relaxer. I used it after a car accident but it has different effects on different people like Vicodin makes me so sick, but others aren’t phased by it. Given the fact that Morgan probably rarely, if ever needed pain meds, it too could have knocked her out like that.
Morgan was a petite girl and you are correct she never took pain meds she didn’t believe in them. Even after going to ER with a broken ankle and nose from a horse accident she refused to take them when given them by the ER doctors.
Wow Heather – I had never even heard of flexeril until Morgan’s lab results and we had never had it in our house, Morgan was never prescribed it and I was told that flexeril, and amitriptyline are definitely used in date rape – so disgusting, I wonder why these things are so easy to get?
I am so glad you were not injured – I can’t believe the doctor gave that to you without warning you.
They are easy to get because they are easily prescribed, then easily sold on the street or shared between friends and/or family.
So awful – we need strict rules with certain meds
Me either Toni! Luckily my husband looked out for me – but even he was shocked at how adversely it affected me. He is a Fitefighter and (at the time) an EMT (now Paramedic). I think there is a misconception that a low dose will not adversely affect you. But I am living proof that size and the (maybe) ability to metabolize or ??? Makes a difference. My husband was def. worried and kept close tabs. But in researching (at least in Arizona) you can get this low dosage with the complaint of an ankle sprain. So ridiculous and not warranted!!
I agree!
Just a small comment but my husband who is 220#’s can take the same pill I took of Flexiril or Vicodin 5mg and it knocks him out. Where myself, it does absolutely nothing to me. Benadryl does the same thing to him. He has arthritis in his back and I have thoracic outlet in my arms which warrants us having a script. But just to point out everyone is different. Body size does have to do with it but so does sensitivity.
I really think more attention needs to be paid to your neighbor E. He rings all the sirens. ALL of them.
I posted on a previous post on my sentiments but forgot to mention something which I think might be helpful that Dr Phil alluded to, which is by using names or accusing certain persons you may be putting yourself at risk for a potential lawsuit(s) for slander and such given God forbid this case takes a long time or is not solved. I hope and pray this is not the case however Ive seen it happen so many times (im not a professional mind you) but I would hate to see something like that happen as I am in full aggreence of what you are saying and given the evidence. Evil people will stop at nothing and you could be an easy target which would only weaken your case, which there are so many of us whom would hate to see happen. You may know the laws but have heard Dr Phil and other professionals discuss this and it just came to mind while reading your blog. Just a thought. God bless and never ever ever give up! Morgan wouldn’t want that!
This isn’t a case of single-person stalking. The empty homes in foreclosure very likely had several persons, acting with the perp, to keep the house, law enforcement and area residents under surveillance.
You should learn about gang stalking, citizen state militia groups (which are and were on the top of the national terrorist watchlists), and their ties to the drug distribution and lawlessness, including: illegal entry into homes, illegal electronic surveillance, tampering with electronic communications (which is how your stalker group knew when you were headed home and where you and your daughter was at any given time), illegal installation of microphones and pin hole cameras, etc..
There are many young women who have been targeted, and some have been murdered.
These murders of young women are almost always framed as suicide.
We also came to the same conclusion: that illegal entry of the premise, use of date rape drugs, and intentional overdose were used. But more tellingly, illegal access of your daughters medical files was used to identify the drugs that would be used in the covert rape.
Was there any testing for evidence of rape or assault? We think not, or it was covered up.
The house was not well secured. The broken locks, the evidence of foot prints, and the unusual evidence of someone having been repeatedly on the roof, are all quite typical for stalking. The broken out window and appearance of multiple vehicles in adjacent homes that are participating (supporting) stalkers is also often found in these stalkings.
See, for example, the story of Taleka Patrick.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/04/09/doctor-body-found/7502533/
Bungling of the autopsy, quick closing of the case by local sheriffs office, and the quick dismissal of FBI investigators (despite the fact that murder occurred in another state, while Taleka was obviously fleeing her stalkers) are just a few of the commonalities of these cases. The apparent obfuscation by law enforcement is also typical.
Unfortunately, public smear campaigns, as occurred on websleuths.com, is also very typical. They accuse you of making this all up.
We think not. Your daughter was targeted, and the Colorado citizen militia is very active, as are the Michigan citizen militia’s.
