I have to say that finally someone is shedding light on the fact that Garfield County has and continues to fail miserably at protecting the citizens who live here. Yes, I live here. I personally know two families that had their children molested and they reported it. There was never an investigation of the individual accused, in fact, in one case the perp. started harassing the victims because they reported “her”, the molester. These were young children, who stood up for them? The D.A. is interested in a cut and dry, clean win in court, such as the easy prosecution of illegal immigrants who are caught drunk driving. This poor family that I know made endless calls to the D.A.’s office when they first discovered their child was being molested and they were being ignored, guess what, the D.A.’s office NEVER returned any of their calls. Thank God they have since found support, and have strength and love within themselves to move on.
What has happened to Morgan is ABSOLUTELY terrible and the person that stalked her needs to be found out and prosecuted. End of story. Someone who knows what they are doing needs to be assigned to this investigation, and do what they were hired to do, protect the public.
Toni, your love for your daughter shines so bright. We are standing with you. Be good to yourself. What happened to Morgan is not o.k. The way it was handled is not o.k. , it breaks my heart that you and your husband had to repeatedly tell each new officer that came to your house the whole story all over again, there should have been a report and they all should have been notified. I am praying for closure for your family.

  1. Most cops don’t know what to do in these cases. It is not something they see often, and they think it’s just teenage angst. Sadly their lack of ability has left your family in a crazy shaken place.

    We should be able to trust our police. We should be able to trust the Coroner. We should be able to trust our DA’s. This is not the case. We should trust out guts, and trust our children. With everything that happened I think they should have jumped on the ball, and done more to find the cause. Their lack is a big bright light of ignorance. Their scrambling to fix their mistakes will show how badly they messed up for this girl and her family that asked for help. Toni, Stay strong and don’t let them affect your soul. You know the truth and you just have to see this through to show the world. God speed.

    • Thank you so much – I am really happy that you can tell from what has been going on so far, what the truth is. I am not trying at this time to say who the stalker is – that should have been done be law enforcement before 4 months went by and we were left, as were her friends, community and the world, with one less kind and caring person.

      Steve and I will stay strong and we will not give up – it’s people like you that give us the strength to keep doing this for others.

    • We did, and we knew it was coming out before it came out. We also know more will be coming out soon, and the truth will really surface…I know it is hard for some people to be patient, especially me.

  4. Thank God this finally got some attention even though it is still not enough. Toni this must be heart breaking to re-live this everyday but you are Morgan’s voice for all the other victims of stalking. God bless!

    • Lisa it really is hard…Steve and I feel like our guts are getting ripped out on a daily basis, but I keep telling myself what doesn’t kill you does make you stronger, and we working on getting our power centers back on a daily basis.

  5. Dr Phil did not do a good job of sharing your story, he made it look to me as if you were discredited when you should have been taken seriously. I have spent many hours reading and have many more hours to finish this. I have a totally different perspective then the first time I commented after watching Dr Phil. I mentioned medium on Dr Phil page and here before I had even gotten to it but that doesn’t taurine me much, I always do that kind of stuff.

    • I agree, Dr Phil’s show didn’t sufficiently explain the details. I have a whole different opinion after reading your blogs. God bless you I have a 16 yr old who is a loving bright spirit. I give you much credit for your composure on the show. I think you’ve done a wonderful job informing the public about a subject not taken nearly serious enough. I usually agree with dr Phil but this time I think your headed in the right direction….if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it’s usually a duck. Prayers to you and your family!
