wow!! that is great!
Simply put….as it should be. This blog is so important. It’s about getting the case reopened, so that Morgan and her family get justice. ….as IT SHOULD BE!!
Thanks guys it’s true – the more people that see what happened the more pressure to open an investigation and go look for the truth – as well as getting the information out to so many in order to raise awareness and help others so this doesn’t keep happening.
What a blessing this is! I’m glad to see it is getting more attention, the more people that look the more people can try to help! I hope your story is picked up by a national news outlet, Dr Phil, or something! It is such an injustice what that county, coroner and LE have done to your family. I continue to pray for peace for your family and that answers will find their way to you!! Much love from Tennessee.
Thanks Tennessee! There are a lot of good people out there that are spreading the word!
From Tennessee too! Much love to you and I wish you the very best.
Dr. Phil,
I am from a small town just outside Aspen Colorado called Basalt. I grew up here my whole life and it is (or use to be) a safe community. The headlines in the papers are mainly about outdoor activities or minor things like the highway (we only have one) being closed temporary due to snow. I hope you have been here since it is a beautiful area.
In late 2011 a horrific thing occurred. A 20 year old girl (just 4 years my junior) was stalked then killed. I just heard about it in August of this year! I was so surprised to find out about it not through the media but through the girl’s mother herself.
The girl, Morgan Ingram, and her family lived in Carbondale which is about a 40 min drive from Aspen. It began with tapping on her windows and progressed quickly. They soon found out it was a person stalking Morgan by footprints he left, video footage of him and actual sightings of him by both Morgan and her mother. The stalking didn’t stop until December 2nd 2011 when Morgan was found dead with what was found to be 5 drugs in her system that are commonly used in date rape.
So why hadn’t I heard of this until just recently? I now live in Glenwood Springs which is just a 10 mile drive from Carbondale. I couldn’t believe something this serious was happening in our valley and I didn’t know.
The police, although they had her safety in mind, were not able to protect Morgan. Protocol was likely not followed 100% and her autopsy was also botched. I truly believe those in the criminal justice and medical field are there to help us but am shocked to learn that this likely was not the case for Morgan. Her death was ruled a suicide despite the suspicious circumstances surrounding it.
Morgan’s parents are reaching out to the public to help get her daughters stalking and death investigation reopened. They have a blog where Toni (Morgan’s mother) recounts her daughters stalking and death day by day. There have now been over 2 million readers that are captivated and saddened by Morgan’s story.
I’m asking you today to please reach out to Toni and Steve Ingram (Morgan’s parents). This is a story that I feel should be told. Stalking is a very real crime that I couldn’t fathom happening in my small town. I hope you can draw attention to this case in order to help other women and to have it re-investigated.
@Katherine…thank u from all of us
GOD Bless!
I was told about Morgan’s story from a friend and was told to read your blog. I am thankful that there is people out there fighting for victims rights as well!! I cannot go into details as my situation is still being investigated, I have endured being a victim of stalking for almost 3 years now. and after moving 4 times ranging from out of he county to out of state it has continued with no idea who this person is. I am sorry that Morgan and your family have had to go thru all that you have. I just hope you find justice for Morgan and peace of mind for yourselves. I have learned a lot from your blog. thank you!
Yes! I hope this can go to Dr. Phil and have them pushed to reopen this case!! I think I replied somewhere else, but I asked somewhere, if you ever heard anymore about someone that said K’s uncle was good friend with the governor. Any more to that story? I can’t remember where I asked, but can’t find it now.
Hi, I would just like to let you know that I think what you’re doing with this blog is amazing. Congrats on over 2 million hits. I found your blog b/c my cousin put it up on Facebook, and I read the entire thing in 1 night. Thank you for sharing your story and educating us in the process. To anyone who accuses you of putting an “entertainment spin” on this, I’d say, yes this blog is captivating, moving and haunting and I suppose that does make it entertaining but that is also why 2 million people have read it, and now 2 million people are more aware of the issue of stalking, hopefully they will be more aware and hopefully those who have kept any similar experiances will be inspire to now speak up!
You are an amazing Mother, you are an inspiring advocate for your Daughter, and in this crazy world, we all need someone to be an advocte, hope you are finding some support for yourself through this blog and please don’t mind those nay-sayers, you are doing good work here!
