Please click on http://denver.cbslocal.com/2012/09/07/parents-say-daughter-was-murdered-want-investigation-reopened/ to see the latest CBS has.
I will be putting information about this on the blog later today…it will address the Garfileld County Sheriff’s office and the Coroner’s office. In the meantime please click on the link above to read and hear (click on their arrow over Morgan’s picture to hear the reporter) what they said. Jeff Todd the CBS reporter is a good guy – after speaking with him I do believe he would like to know what is going on here just like the rest of us…and we will.
Thanks everyone!

I actually emailed News4 last night, not only asking them to please ensure that they posted the link to the 5pm (complete) story, but also imploring them to consider this a story worth follow up, as we are part of their viewing community, and are isolated here in the mountains with no major news outlets of our own. I would recommend others do the same, and ask them to join us in making our elected officials accountable for not only their actions and lack thereof during the stalking and following her death, but their public denial that anything is amiss. I am hoping that since you have a established a relationship with Jeff Todd they may do just that and keep their interest in this story alive! Please write to them and ask that they don’t just drop this story!!! – Valerie
Thanks Valerie I just sent off an email to Jeff just before I read your comment – Jeff has already assured me that he would like to continue showing what is happening with this case – if you don’t mind I will copy and send him your comment just in case he doesn’t read it.
Of course I don’t mind. Like I said, anywhere that referencing my comments helps you to achieve any progress towards resolving this, please feel free. You never need to ask. And I only post things like that here not for any personal recognition, but to hopefully encourage others to do the same, and find other ways to reach out to anyone who is either hindering your progress, or has the ability to help this effort!! This is not a battle you two should be fighting alone, and trying to find ways to create a loud and collective outcry is the only way I personally have to help you at this time. I think about y’all every day, I cry every day, and when I do I can only imagine that you must have cried an ocean of tears. My heart hurts and I will only feel better when you have the answers you deserve and your daughter’s stalker is caught, and her death is given a logical and believable cause. Right now there is only one that makes sense. 🙁 – Valerie
Thank you Valerie – I really believe that the collective conciousnous of all these wonderful, caring people will be the reason that.great change will be made. And you are right Steve and I can not do it alone
As I have read all of this blog, I’ve cried. I’m a mother of 3 daughters, one of which whose pictures were taken and splattered all over an online social networking site similar to Facebook, but run by Google. The people doing this had taken information from my blogs, facebook pages, and stole from Boutique Modeling Facebook pages which are used for boutiques to find models for their items. My daughter at the time was between 6 months and 12 months, and I nearly threw up when I found out they were using her full name, our state, milestones(!), and had tons of pictures of her. It was some “game” they played in Brazil called “fakes.” Where the one owning the profile page would play at being the mother (though everyone knew she wasn’t). I don’t know it was very confusing and they spoke in Portuguese so it was difficult to translate. I fought tooth and nail to have images removed due to copyright infringement, and had to pull her pictures off of the modeling pages…as well as warn all other modeling companies we had done business with to remove names, and use initials only. MANY babies and children are on Orkut with these profiles. It’s sick and wrong…these people aren’t doing anything themselves, but the information is getting out there and who knows who can see the pictures and a simple right click gives them access to the images to take for themselves, and do whatever with. It’s scary to know that someone on your friends list is taking your information and splattering it all over. Worse when you go out into public and hear someone speaking Spanish or Portuguese and have to wonder if they’re connected…like you’ve said, hyper-vigilant. So hugs to you and your family, and I am so sorry this happened to you. I was wondering, though, is it possible that the stalker was intercepting the text messages? There are applications for this, and ways of doing it. (I’ve no clue how, but I googled it out of curiosity to know that it’s actually possible). Giving you and yours lots of thoughts and prayers!
I’d give your carrier a call to find out. I’ve no clue how it works, it just kept popping into my mind that it may be possible. :-/ Scary thought since we all text in today’s society.
I am determined to find out – thanks again for the helpful clue!
Is there any way the stalker could have gotten access to her phone at any point in time? Perhaps she left it lying somewhere, unattended, for even a few minutes, and the stalker was able to get his or her hands on it?
If so, there are applications that can be secretly installed on smart phones or computers that will track and log all activity on the phone or computer, and can even allow the person to monitor the activity through their own computer, or phone.
I learned about such programs a few years ago when I found out my spouse was having an affair, and using his phone to communicate with his mistress. An online support group I frequented had a limited access forum with information on how to essentially “stalk” your significant other to find out what they were up to — to get proof they were having an affair, for example. I never used any of them — but it would be easy for even someone not so bright to figure out. All they’d need is a few minutes access to the person’s phone/computer.
There are also devices that make it easy to track a person’s vehicle. About 7 years ago, my step-dad began using meth, and became paranoid and delusional. He started turning against my mom, accusing her of all kinds of horrendous stuff. He was convinced she was out to get him (even thought she was trying to have him killed), even though it was NOT true (if anything, she was trying to help him off the drugs and save his life and family — but it’s common for meth users to turn sharply and even violently against people who try to help them). Anyway, my step-dad started basically “stalking” my mom. At first he was running background checks on her online, and recording phone calls, and collecting papers of hers. When they split, and he was kicked out of the house, he started using other methods. One method we only learned about after his suicide 3 years later (after which I had to clean out his storage unit, where I found all kinds of sickening and heartbreaking stuff), was that he had installed some sort of GPS tracking device on my mom’s car, and was able to track EVERYWHERE she drove, the times and dates of travel, every stop along the way, including addresses and Google maps of her trips. He was easily able to look up who lived/worked at each destination as well, and kept notes. It was creepy as hell — especially because my mom suspected my dad might have been doing something like that, but was never able to find any sort of device or anything on her car, or anywhere else (and my mom actually is extremely knowledgeable about cars). Could her stalker have planted such a device on your vehicles? Even if he/she lived in the neighborhood, they could have been tracking the vehicles movements on their computer, and as soon as she appeared to be heading home, gotten him/herself into position, so they were ready to begin their assault within minutes of her arriving home.
And, as for the drugs in her system, I noted someone mentioned it could be applied in a gel format. I wonder how quickly it takes effect in such a form — particularly if the dose was high. Or, could the person somehow have slipped the drug into or onto something she touched or consumed? If the stalker was ever able to get into the house — whether you knew it or not — perhaps they could have mixed it into her lotion or makeup? Or her shampoo? Or a particular beverage or food they knew only she ate? It’s a long shot… but it could explain why it sounds like there was no sign of a break-in or a struggle or anything.
It could well have been transdermal (for animals) or injected or poured down her throat. As for no sign of a struggle – I no longer believe that. When I packed up her room there were things tossed everywhere…it was a disaster. One officer in their report says the room was a disaster, but there was no sign of a struggle…not! Her panic button that was stuck on by a velcro pad on her end table was gone…I later found it on the floor under something. Her body was found on the opposite side of the bed, facing the opposite side she normally faced and now she was away from her panic button, her body looked posed, not same clothes she came home in, not the PJ’s she was wearing, dressed in other street clothes. If they had asked the right questions and did the right investigation we wouldn’t be going through this right now.
I’ve noticed that ? and K are not friends on Facebook. Does anyone else find this as strange as I do since they were living together? Wouldn’t they have to have a pretty large falling out to not be friends anymore?
It seems they broke up in October 2011 as another person posted. Also, I think they had a baby together.
Heart breaking, and this case screams for Justice! Morgan Law: needs to be written, give tools to Law Enforcement to be able to open a case and follow it as if it were any other violent crime investigation!
The grocery store Keenan worked at, did they have a pharmacy in there? Or did Keenan find another place of employment where he could have accessed her prescription information?
Yes they do have a pharmacy there – that’s where we used to fill all of our prescriptions.
Even if the GarCo sheriff decided to re-open the case how on earth do you trust them to do the proper job now? At this point it would be ‘in name only’ and a half assed effort at best. Can you imagine what kind of effort they would put in when they feel the spotlight on their deficiencies has FORCED them to reopen the case. What do you do when law enforcement isnt doing their job? Too bad no one in the sheriffs office takes their responsibilities to the community seriously.
We would not trust them…we would not want them to reopen it now. We would like someone at the state level to look at this case.
Thanks so much for helping us to share Morgan’s story. The people we can help are so much more important than anything else!!!
I am glad you have found the strength to see this through… I support your decision to demand that this case be reopened… broke my heart to read the way the office in charge of investigating it has dismissed it entirely… we need our law enforcement officials to actually care about doing their jobs well… thank you again for sharing your story with the rest of us parents who may have a situation like this to deal with in our lives… sending more love & light to all of you… hang in there!
Hi there,
I’m so sorry to read of your terrifying experience and tragedy. As soon as I started reading about the stalking, I also wondered if it was possible the stalker was monitoring Morgan’s phone or computer. If that’s the case, the efforts she took to keep herself safe would have also been providing her stalker with live updates of her whereabouts. You should know that there is cell phone monitoring software, which can be installed either by direct access to a phone or by tricking a victim into clicking a link (or downloading what appears to be a photo, for example).
Here’s one article about it: http://www.geeksaresexy.net/2008/05/05/cell-phone-spying-is-your-life-being-monitored/
Also, there are wireless monitoring programs — even free applications, and step by step instructions on how to intercept facebook passwords, etc. that anyone could find just by googling it. This could especially be relevant if her stalker lived close by and could pick your wireless network easily:

People can also listen to police scanners to know when they are called and know exactly where they are going and when to expect them.
This is something anyone who is worried about stalking should know, and I hope the police warned Morgan about it. I fear from reading your story so far that that police may have be entirely unprepared to deal with stalking, especially in a technological age.
Good luck with bringing justice for Morgan.
