\"Colorado<\/a>As a parent of a murdered child I know I will never stop hurting, and I will never forget, but in my own time I have become stronger and have learned to appreciate life again. \u00a0I am so grateful for the 20 years Morgan was in my life. \u00a0I will never forget all the lessons she taught me – the greatest lesson was her love of life. \u00a0My heart now honors Morgan with every happy thought that I allow to enter my heart.<\/p>\n

IN MY OWN TIME<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I was able to say your name
\nAnd look at your picture without breaking down.
\nTo read through letters your hopes and dreams
\nWhile cleaning your room, under the mattress I found.<\/p>\n

In my own time\u2026\u00a0 I found the strength\u2026
\nTo sort out your things and with your friends share
\nThe many treasures you kept through the years.<\/p>\n

I went to the movies without the pang of guilt
\nFor enjoying the simple pleasures in life
\nKnowing you were there sitting by my side.<\/p>\n

I was able to wake up one day,
\nWalk outside and feel the warm summer rays.
\nI was able to laugh at something funny someone said
\nAnd for a moment, I didn\u2019t just exist, I lived instead.<\/p>\n

The empty space you left behind will always be there
\nNothing in this world will ever fill that void,
\nIt\u2019s just that in time I found there were things I could enjoy.<\/p>\n

The other day I was able to see you again as you were
\nI watched you through home movies that before I could not bear,
\nAnd through tears and smiles
\nI relived all the good times that we shared.<\/p>\n

I still see your face sometimes among the crowds
\nListen to your favorite songs, and when I look up\u2026
\nI see your angel wings between the clouds.<\/p>\n

The life we once knew\u2026\u00a0 Is no more\u2026
\nIn our own time strength and comfort we will find.
\nEvery day just thank the Lord
\nFor the loved ones He sent us\u2026 However brief
\nAllowing us to share with them precious time.<\/p>\n
