After work today we went to purchase more motion detector lights, the high intensity types, along with more motion detector alarms. \u00a0We are trying to completely cover the perimeter of our house, and perhaps get advanced warning of someone approaching.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day at \u00a02:58 pm<\/strong> I sent Morgan a text message, \u201cM – text me a really good picture of Wyhla, and is that how you spell her name?\u201d\u00a0 Morgan texts me back, \u201cYou have a picture of her on your phone.\u00a0 Or dad\u2019s.\u00a0 It\u2019s Wylah.\u201d<\/p>\n

At 4:23 pm<\/strong> I sent her a text back, \u201cThanks!\u201d\u00a0 Then Morgan sends me a text that says, \u201cMhm.\u00a0 Whatcha doing?\u201d\u00a0 At 5:59 pm<\/strong> I send an answer, \u201cJust leaving Costco should we come get you?\u201d\u00a0 At 6:17 pm<\/strong> she responds, \u201cNo, it\u2019s cool I was just wondering why you wanted a pic.\u201d\u00a0 I said, \u201cTo send to Bill.\u201d\u00a0 Bill is Morgan\u2019s Godfather – he lives in Kauai. \u00a0She had just spent 2 weeks with him, and his wife Diane in June, and had such a wonderful time with them both…she misses them. \u00a0They haven’t seen a picture of her new puppy yet, so I thought I would send them one. \u00a0Morgan writes back, \u201cAww.\u00a0 Yay.\u201d<\/p>\n

At 6:38 pm<\/strong> I sent her a text that says, \u201cSuppose you can do that later perhaps?\u201d\u00a0 (not sure what that was about, I guess she must have called or sent her dad a text about something).\u00a0 Then at 7:43 pm<\/strong> I sent Morgan a text that said, \u201cAlmost 8:00 pm<\/strong> can we come get you?\u201d\u00a0 Morgan texts back, \u201cGive me an hour?\u201d\u00a0 I say, \u201cOK – 8:45 where?\u201d\u00a0 Morgan texts back, \u201cMom…Nine.\u00a0 Just call me when you\u2019re close.\u201d\u00a0 I sent her another text at 8:46 pm<\/strong>, \u201cWe are at the Methodist Church right one?\u201d She texts back, \u201cK. Just a second.”<\/p>\n

It’s strange to suddenly be treating our 19-year-old daughter like she was twelve again, but she doesn’t seem to mind at all. \u00a0She’s afraid, we’re afraid, and we are trying not to talk about our fear – talking about it would make it real.<\/p>\n

Her stalking has been going on for 11 days now, and even though I may call it a quiet night, we don’t really sleep well. \u00a0Our guard has been raised and we are becoming, what the sheriff’s tell us later is called “hyper-vigilant.” \u00a0It’s like when you sleep in a new place that you are uncomfortable in, every noise no matter how small or slight, has added significance now. \u00a0We lie in bed and instead of kissing and saying, “Good night honey” we talk about what we are going to do if we should hear a rock against the window, because we know someone is out there trying to terrorize us. \u00a0Who’s going out the front door? \u00a0Who’s going out the back door? \u00a0Mag lights on, Mag lights off? \u00a0How are the two of us going to corner him\/her? \u00a0We actually have no idea who he is, or if it’s even a he. \u00a0So far we have never caught the slightest glimpse. \u00a0If it were not for his\/her actual footprints, up against our house in front of our windows, we would be dealing with that small doubt – we have had so many theories from our friends that maybe the windows could make noises on their own with temperature changes, or it could be bats with faulty sonar that smack into windows – however none of those leave Etnie skater shoe footprints on the ground.<\/p>\n

Morgan still feels safer sleeping in our closet on the floor, and tonight there was no noise on the closet window…it was a quiet night.<\/p>\n
