Morgan loved yogurt and stuck by her favorites<\/p><\/div>\n

I am woken at 1:45 by our dog Tessi.\u00a0 She has started to bark at the front door.\u00a0 She barks occasionally, but snores loudly far more often.\u00a0 I feel that if Tessi is barking it is something.\u00a0 She has not woken Steve up yet so I leave him to his dreams, and go to the front door.\u00a0 Tessi is upset about something outside, and we peer out through the little beveled glass rectangles together for the longest time.<\/p>\n

If I am standing here watching we are all safe.\u00a0 I quietly look in on Morgan, and she is sleeping soundly.\u00a0 I return to the door, and sit on the floor with Tessi, and look out into the darkness.\u00a0 Nothing is moving, and one porch light is on across the street.\u00a0 Of course our yard is lit up like a used car lot.<\/p>\n

I finally say goodnight to our newf and go back to bed.\u00a0 Almost on cue the motion detector light right outside our bedroom goes on.\u00a0 It stays on for a minute and then goes off.\u00a0 I tell myself that when it goes off again I will wake Steve, but it never does.<\/p>\n

I write to myself the next morning a question.\u00a0 How will we know when this is really over?\u00a0 Just one sentence, because I know it has to be over at some point in time, and we will have to go back to normal.\u00a0 So I\u2019m wondering how we will know that has happened.\u00a0 Last night I was up for an hour or two because Tessi barked.\u00a0 A year ago I would have just told her to be quiet.<\/p>\n

That afternoon Steve tells me, with no warning, that he has been thinking about the idea of putting trip strings, tied between the trees in our yard, and has found a black nylon \u201cballistic\u201d cord sold nearby that should be invisible at night.\u00a0 He has found a store where he can pick up four spools.\u00a0 Steve is wondering if we can actually do this as we can\u2019t leave it up, and will have to string it after dark, and remove it before sunrise.\u00a0 We decide we will figure that part out later, and set off to pick up the cord.<\/p>\n

At 8:50 pm I text Morgan, \u201cOn your way home yet?\u201d icon of a red car<\/em> \u201cIt\u2019s almost 10.\u201d Morgan answers, \u201cYeah. I\u2019ll leave right now.\u201d A happy face blowing a kiss<\/em>\u00a0 I answer, \u201cGreat, I\u2019ll watch for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

We have just added an array of little icons to our phones to add to texts, and Morgan uses them in every message, so I am trying to add a few here, and there also.\u00a0 And in case you did not notice I really did text Morgan just before nine, and told her it was almost ten.\u00a0 She did not notice until the next morning.\u00a0 We are all so tired, even after four days of quiet, which has me wondering what was different now.<\/p>\n
